The Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) is a status granted by Ecuador's National Customs Service (SENAE) to supply-chain companies that prove, through an audit, that they meet standards of security, financial solvency and compliance with their customs obligations.
MACOBSA holds SENAE's AEO status, valid from February 7, 2025 to February 7, 2028.
Benefits under the program
Ecuador's AEO regulations provide for the following benefits, among others, applied according to SENAE's risk profiles:
- Fewer physical and documentary checks on imports.
- Priority service and faster assignment of inspection channels.
- Non-intrusive controls coordinated among public agencies.
- Use of the AEO seal and recognition under mutual recognition agreements with other customs administrations.
What it means for you
- A partner already audited: your operations are handled by an operator the customs authority has already reviewed.
- Security-controlled processes: vetted staff, controlled documents and prevention of cargo contamination.
- Less friction: orderly processes that reduce observations and rework.
Together with BASC (secure trade) and ISO 9001:2015 (quality management), AEO status is part of our promise: your cargo, safe and on time.
